If 2025 showed us anything, it's that couples are leaning into simplicity, intention, and locations that just work without overcomplicating the day. These three spots came up again and again and honestly, it's easy to see why.

1. The Smeltzer House Gazebo in Sherwood Park

This one was by far one of the most requested locations this year. It’s the kind of place that feels almost too good to be true for what you get. You’ve got a large free parking lot, surrounded by big, mature trees that give it that quiet, tucked-away feel. The gazebo itself is beautiful and works perfectly for a ceremony setup, with enough space for chairs and a small group.

What really makes this location stand out though is how many different photo backdrops you get without needing to go anywhere else. No long walks, no driving between spots... everything is right there, which makes the whole experience feel really smooth and relaxed.

2. Alberta Legislature Building

This became a go-to for couples booking legalization-style packages, and it makes sense. There’s something about this spot that gives that classic courthouse feel people are often looking for, but with way more character. Being right downtown, it’s easy to access and close to a lot if you want to go to dinner or something after. It’s also completely free, which is a huge bonus, and the architecture makes it feel timeless. Clean, simple, and iconic.

3. St. Albert Botanical Park

If you’re wanting something more nature-forward, this was such a strong choice in 2025. The florals here are beautiful and constantly changing through the season, which means every ceremony feels a little different. Even a short walk through the park gives you so many options for photos, without needing to go far. There’s also a free parking lot on site, and having staff around adds an extra layer of ease that couples really appreciate. It’s calm, intentional, and just a really lovely space to get married.

We’re already starting to see a bit of a shift in what couples are choosing, which is always interesting. Different locations, slightly different priorities, and a new kind of energy coming through in 2026. We have added over 40 new locations to our list and are always learning and visiting new places to see if they're a good fit for Edmonton Elopements couples.
